Episode 39: Limiting Beliefs: Time To Break the Cycle
EPISODE SUMMARY:
Despite the stigmas and stereotypes society places on therapy, we all need a little help sometimes. With the physical and mental changes mid-life brings, talking to a professional about our struggles and learning healthy coping skills can be extremely beneficial. Putting yourself first should be a priority, not an insecurity! Kathryn Ely, a licensed counselor and a Purpose & Productivity Coach, helps mid-life women face their problems head-on and learn ways to overcome them. Through her sessions, she strives to help women discover themselves, overcome self-limiting beliefs, and find the right steps to pursuing their passions. In this week’s episode, we talk about why Kathryn pursued a career in mental health, the most common issues women face during mid-life, and how Kathryn helps her clients deal with these issues.
Kathryn Ely
Kathryn Ely is currently a licensed counselor and a Purpose & Productivity Coach in Birmingham, Alabama. After spending years practicing law, and then becoming a stay-at-home mom, Kathryn realized that she craved more in life. All of her energy had been placed into her family, and it was time she pursued her own passions. Kathryn went back to school and earned a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health. Now, as a practicing counselor, she helps both teenagers and adults struggling with anxiety. Her methods encourage self-discovery, overcoming self-limiting beliefs, and understanding the right steps to take in order to achieve your goals. Along with being a licensed counselor, Kathryn also runs a podcast called “Imperfect Thriving”, which talks about the struggles women face and how to overcome those struggles and pursue your passions.
