Today we talk about proper nutrition and exercise with Veronica Hugger. We discuss menopausal weight gain and the differences between the “eat less, exercise more” method vs. the “eating right, exercise efficiently” method.
She describes whole food nutrition, good vs. bad carbohydrates and lowering processed sugar in your diet. Menopausal women must be careful with certain dietary restrictions which may increase their symptoms while it is also important to note that alcohol can make the symptoms worse.
Veronica explains efficient ways to exercise that help reduce the midlife “middle” and increase energy for women in middle age. High intensity cardio and strength training also assist in a healthier transition through perimenopause and menopause. If cardio is too intense or physically too strenuous, yoga is an excellent alternative. Yoga stretching and breathing exercises are excellent ways to stay healthy and strong.
