Episode 14: Social Media: Engage at Any Age with Michele Bellisari

On this episode, we have a fascinating discussion with Michele Bellisari, Boca Raton realtor, podcaster, micro-influencer and creator of the lifestyle blog #SoooBoca.  Michele learned first hand during the market crash in 2007 as well as a serious of personal challenges just how to pivot her career in middle age. She did so while learning how to successfully engage in social media marketing. Bottom line: She knows how to show us to engage in social media at any age.

Michele walks us through social media from a personal and business perspective, proper branding and different social media forums that are popular with middle age women.  She explains that it is important to discover a smaller niche for your business plan so you can become the expert and people will seek you out.

She goes on to explain how to take that smaller focus into your social media and engage in directed marketing that supports your business regardless of your age. You will need to get over the fear of how you look or how you sound and concentrate on the marketing of your business. Personal stories of midlife and middle age are part of your story and she tells us not to be afraid to share those stories on our Instagram or Facebook stories.

She will discuss her introduction to Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, Pinterest as well as Twitter and TikTok. Michele believes that you should be prepared for any new social media marketing that comes up regardless of whether it is promoted for millenial, boomer or generation x women.

Her advice is on target for many different career paths, her description of successful social media engagement was purposeful and informative and our conversation was great fun.

  1. Love Michele. 2009 I got divorced (again) and lost the house I had bought after my 1st divorce. I didn’t really understand the implications of all of this but, yes, there were definitely stigmas that came with these situations. In 2010 I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer and started treatments. I’m grateful I was able to continue doing real estate through that, but at a much slower pace. Re-learning that I was ok, a good person, and was going to make it was tough. I worked almost exclusively with buyers. Knowing that I needed to put myself and my health first was critical. As much as I love buyers and teaching them, I have loved working with more seller recently. I have learned social media at a whole different level now. I’m hoping it will be a source of business for me soon. Right now it is just keeping up with my long time SOI. All of your stories and energy and positive thoughts have made my day. Thanks.
