We are joined by the incredible actress Linda Gray for an in depth discussion on her career and her life.
Linda started as a model in the late 1960’s and she began acting soon after that. She rose to fame as Sue Ellen Ewing, 1/2 of the most power couple on the 70’s series DALLAS. Linda was cast as the “brunette on the couch” but she became so much more. After studying the Dallas elite in stores like Neiman Marcus and posh events, she create the iconic Sue Ellen Ewing, a women who held her own against J.R. all the while holding a strong whiskey in her hand. Dallas challenged viewers to address issues like alcoholism, cheating and breast cancer. Linda tells the story of how she was fired over her request to direct one episode but the powers that be were against it. Larry Hagman had to go and say that he would leave if she left, she then got her wish. She would continue to direct 5 episodes.
The reboot was a chance for her to continue crafting Sue Ellen’s journey and she welcomed the challenge.
Linda is now staring in Lifetime’s Ladies of the 80’s: A Diva’s Christmas. She acts along side Loni Anderson, Morgan Fairchild, Nicolette Sheridan and Donna Mills as former soap opera stars. The show will premier on Lifetime on December 2nd and promises to be quite the ride. Linda shares funny stories from the experience.
Linda also talks about her journey through menopause and aging. At 83, she is a Prime Woman living her best life. Whether it is walking the pilgrimage to Camino De Santiago this past year or moving into a new condo, she is healthy and happy and ready for the next challenge!
