Academy Awards and Age Spots:

In this episode, Colleen and Bridgett discuss the 2020 Academy Awards and Age Spots. Yes, this may seem a weird combination but it works. Try to find an age spot on any of the nominees, good luck!

We discuss our personal picks and who we think will take home the Best Actress, Actor, Supporting Actress and Actor as well as Best Film. A shirtless Brad Pitt and the argument scene in A Marriage Story were some top highlights. We also talk about the lack of female representation in the Best Directory category.

Academy Award projections completed so we move on to Age Spots. We talk about what causes them and the many, many options to minimize or remove them. We stress that you should ALWAYS go the dermatologist to have a dark spot checked to make sure it is not something more serious. If the dermatologist says it is, in fact, an age or liver spot, there are several options available to remove them.

If you are in a rush or want the spots completely removed, you may go directly to the dermatological route (more intensive and expensive)

1. Bleaching Creams with Hydroquinone alone or with Retinoids (like Tretinoin which is an acne cream) combined.
2. Laser or Intense Light Therapy: 2/3 sessions usually required
3. Cryotherapy: Freezing
4. Microdermabrasion or Dermabrasion
5. Chemical Peels
